FORMER Blue boyband member Lee Ryan will make his acting stage debut in Christopher Manoe’s new play, The Pretender Agenda which runs for a limited season at the New Players Theatre – from August 28 (previews from August 26) to September 27, 2008.

Controversial former Blue boyband member Lee Ryan (pictured) will make his stage acting debut in The Pretender Agenda, a new play which will run at the New Players Theatre for five weeks from 28 August to 27 September 2008 (previews from 26 August).
Set in modern London, The Pretender Agenda revolves around six thirty-something colleagues whose lives change irreparably over the course of one scandalous evening. The piece is written and directed by Christopher Manoe who describes it as “one brilliantly disastrous office party that reveals secrets lurking beneath the respectable façade with the same dark subtlety as Mike Leigh’s classic Abigail’s Party.
While in Blue, singer and songwriter Lee Ryan courted controversy when he said the 9/11 terrorist attacks were not as important as the number of elephants who died annually died through poaching. Since leaving the band in 2005, he’s released his eponymous debut album and singles including “Army of Lovers” and “Turn Your Car Around”, voiced one of the characters in the animated film Ice Age 2: The Meltdown and appeared in reality TV show Hell’s Kitchen.
In The Pretender Agenda, Ryan will appear familiar TV faces Lucy Benjamin (EastEnders, X Factor – Battle of the Stars), Vincenzo Pellegrino (Casualty, Hobly City), Sue Devaney (Dinnerladies, The Royal), Ben Jones (Doctors, Spooks, Echo Beach and Emily Aston (Coronation Street, Heartbeat) as well as Scott Hinds.
The play is co-produced by the New Players Theatre and INC Productions Ltd. The cast of The Pretender Agenda will launch the production and the theatre’s new autumn/winter season – including the Actors’ Company’s annual repertory, which this year will see John Osborne’s A Patriot for Me and Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba presented in rep from 2 October to 1 November – at a red carpet event at the New Players next Tuesday, 22 July 2008.

Sounds as the rumours are true - blue are reuniting. i spoke to lead singer lee ryan last year,and he told me there ws no chance the boyband would reform. but now it seems lee hs changed his mind,even though he's set to become a dad for the first time with fiancee samantha miller.
A friend of lees told me " everything is ready to be signed on the dotted line.
there were rumours the band were waiting ffor duncan james,who has a successful tv career,to show interest,and were trying to persuade him to get involved.
But the friend told me " duncan is really intrested,too so its not case of waiting for him any more.
lee who has enjoyed a solo singing career, told me " i was going to put masks of the blue boys on my dancers for the fans _ it would have been like old times again" now it looks like fans wont have to wait much longer for the real thing.

It was a serious relationship. we had a good time togeather,we really did,but things didnt work out. I don't keep intouch with him now- after you've been with someone who you are emotionally connected to its hard to stay just friends with them. i hear he's getting married soon and that he's going to be a dad. i'm suprised,but good luck to him.

hey i just wanna clear up that sammi did not send me rude pictures of herself to me on myspace and we have known eachother longer than the press say.
I'm very happy and that's all I have to say. Please don't beleive everything you read in the papers they make up so much bollox!!! x
